Maxim Kurmanbekovich Bakiev (born on October, the 27th, 1977 in Kuibyshev) — the Kirghiz statesman, the businessman, the second son of the former president of Kirghizia Kurmanbek Bakiev. It is put on the international wanted list on the Interpol channels and as a result he was detained in England on the 15th of June, 2010.
The biography
He left secondary school in Kazarman settlement. In 1997 he was trained in Great Britain, in 1998 — in the USA. In 1999 he finished the faculty of law of the Kyrgyzsko-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek with distinction.
In 1997 M.K. Bakiev worked in the private legal company "Interpravo". He was also a member of the consulting council at the board of the English holding BCB Solution Limited concerning advisory support of developing countries and development of consulting business in the countries the Near and the Middle East.
In 2005 he entered the Diplomatic Academy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Russian Federation, having taken one from two given by Russia to Kirghizia places in this educational institution, but he was deducted from the first course «for regular non-attendance of his studies».
From 2005 he was an international adviser, the expert on strategic planning, geographical economy, and marketing, quality management logistics, legal and financial questions.
He had been also a chief of a pre-election staff of his father during his presidential campaign in 2009.
Since the 29th of October, 2009 before revolution in April, 2010 M.K. Bakiev was a director of the Central agency for development, investments and innovations of (CADII) Kyrgyzstan Republics.
He is fond of football. So he operates actions of the Blackpool Football Club, playing in the English Championship League.
During coup d’état Maxim Bakiev wasn't in Kirghizia. He was in the USA where he planned to take part in annual Kirgizsko-American consultations. Later they informed that the younger son of Kurmanbek Bakiev arrived to Latvia.
On the 6th of May he was put on the international wanted list on Interpol channels. He was accused of abusing powers and no-purpose use of the state credit and also that the firms under his control bought gas using understated cost. Therefore the damage to the sum of 16 million dollar was caused to the State.
Under messages of mass-media after revolution he was in Latvia. In June, 2010 he was detained by the English police. Actually he waits the answer to the inquiry about a political asylum in the Great Britain.
