Independence Day of Turkmenistan — is the main national holiday of Turkmenistan Republic.
History and celebrating
Date for carrying out of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan was chosen not casually.
On 27th of October, 1991 the Supreme body of Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic passed the law «About independence and bases of a state system of Turkmenistan». After disintegration of the USSR the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic became one of last Soviet Socialist Republics on the post-Soviet territory, proclaimed the state sovereignty.
In the Independence Day of Turkmenistan on the Central Asia republic pass mass national celebrations. There was already a tradition, to award outstanding citizens of Turkmenistan on the threshold of a holiday— art workers, art, sports, a policy... Quite often it is announced “celebratory amnesties” basically to the people who once violated the law, on the unintentional and not gross crime, and also to women and convicted minors).
In many settlements of the country celebratory actions and concerts are carried out. Also salutes and fireworks became traditional in honor of independence finding.
The 27th and the 28th of October are in the celebratory days off Turkmenistan.
