Two kidnapped Iranian pilgrims released in Syria

Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour said two Iranian pilgrims kidnapped in Syria by "rebels" have been released, IRNA reported.

Kidnapped Iranian citizens Ali Mahmoudi and Gholam-Hossein Darvishi have been handed over to Iranian diplomats at Turkey-Syria border in Hatay region.

Hosseinpour said there are 4 more kidnapped Iranian pilgrims besides 7 Iranian engineers in Syria. Turkey attempts to negotiate with dissidents in Syria to release them.

So far, 16 Iranians kidnapped in Syria have been released.

Syrian opposition claims that Iran supports Bashar al-Assad regime with weapons to crack down the dissidents.
