In Osh, the largest city of the southern part of Kyrgyzstan, a new enterprise specializing in milk processing have started its work. According to the press service of the government of the republic, the commissioning of the milk processing plant “Osh Ak-Sut” resolves the issue of the sale of dairy products from farmers in the three south regions of the country: Batken, Osh and Jalal-Abad. In addition, the newly created enterprise permanently employs 40 local residents.

The milk processing plant will regularly purchase dairy raw materials from the local population

all year round. The enterprise will specialize in the processing and production of various types of dairy products, such as butter, cheese, milk powder and a number of others.

It is planned to purchase dairy raw materials from about 8,000 farmsteads; 14 collection points have already been created. The equipment installed in the plant's shops fully meets the standards of the Eurasian Economic Union. In the long term, plans are afoot to export the plant's products, primarily to Russia and Kazakhstan.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov took part in the opening ceremony of the new enterprise. In his words, this milk processing plant will become the largest facility of its kind in the region. It will provide an opportunity to resolve issues related to the sale of dairy products, and to reduce internal migration by creating additional jobs. In addition, a healthy competition will emerge among dairy enterprises, which will help to lower prices for dairy products.

According to S. Zhenenbekov, local authorities and relevant state bodies should create the necessary conditions for the normal functioning of enterprises of the processing industry.
