The Kazakh Fund for Development of Social Projects “Samruk-Kazyna Trust” intends to encourage the best students that study at technical specialties of the higher education institutions of the republic. In this regard, the Fund launches the “Ozat” program, which provides for allocation of 130 scholarships. Full-time undergraduate students in their final years at state and national universities of Kazakhstan will be able to apply for this scholarship.



Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev congratulated the citizens and guests of the republic on the holiday of sacrifices, Kurman Ait. As reported by the press office of the President on September 12, Kurman Ait symbolizes peace, unity, compassion for the needy and care for others. “Like other religious holidays of the Kyrgyz people, Kurman Ait has become an important event in the spiritual life of the country's citizens, contributing to strengthening of the moral foundations of society and its cohesion.


On September 8, the Second World Nomadic Games came to an end on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. According to the medal standings, the absolute winner of the competition was the home team; the second place went to the team of Turkmenistan; the third place was won by the team of Kazakhstan. This information was reported by the State Agency for Youth, Sports and Physical Culture of the Republic. Worth recalling, the Games were held in the period September 3-8 and included competitions in 25 sports that were participated by athletes from more than 60 countries around the world.


On September 3, the city of Cholpon-Ata (Issyk-Kul Province of Kyrgyzstan) witnessed the opening of the Second World Nomadic Games. The opening ceremony took place on the shore of Issyk-Kul, with participation of President of the Republic Almazbek Atambayev. After the welcoming address to participants and guests of the Games, the president announced the opening of the Second World Nomadic Games. The list of honored guests of the event included politicians from around the world, and popular American actor Steven Seagal.



The Center for Literature and Culture of China has opened in the southern capital of Kazakhstan within walking distance from the National Library. The project was jointly implemented by the State Council and the National Library of the Republic. The official opening of the pavilion was attended by representatives of the Chinese party. During the week, there will be open the exhibition “The Wisdom – Made in China,” where visitors can see a variety of innovative projects and meet with thousands of books on identity, culture, history and achievements of China.


Currently, South Kazakhstan Province is actively implementing a new project aimed at development of tourism; the center of cultural and historical tourism will be Turkestan, which was visited by over 1,000,000 tourists in 2015. For this purpose, there was developed and adopted the new concept “Kone Turkistan,” which provides for restoration and conservation works in the territory of the Khoja Ahmed Jasaui mausoleum. The buildings located in the protected area of the mausoleum will be used for organization of tourist services.


The construction of the Universiade 2017 facilities in Almaty is carried out 2-3 months ahead of the previously established schedule. During a visiting session of the Organizing Committee on preparation and conduct of the 28th Winter Universiade in 2017, this statement was made by Nail Nurov, head of the Committee's Directorate. According to him, another three new facilities are currently under construction: the Ice Arena with 3,000 seats, the Ice Palace with 12,000 seats, and the Athletic Village designed to accommodate 5,000 people.



The International exhibition EXPO 2017, which will be held in Astana next year, is expected to be visited by more than 300,000 people, according to forecasts of the organizers of the event. They also believe that many foreign tourists will take the opportunity to have a look at the attractions of the Republic, which will require extensive preparations throughout the tourism sector. This issues was considered during the recent Burabai-based meeting of tour operators of Kazakhstan. They also mentioned that on average a tourist will spend about $1,000 during their stay in the country.


On August 27-28, Astana's park “Arai” will host the Food & Fashion Festival dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of the Republic. According to the website of the City Hall, visitors will be able to attend the event between 12:00 PM and 08:00 PM hours. On August 11, the capital of Uzbekistan hosted the International Youth Day Sports Festival, which took place at the Republican Specialized Center of water sports. It was organized by the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan, together with the United Nations Population Fund in the form of a swimming competition for teenage girls aged 11-14 years from all districts of Tashkent. The competition was participated by a total of 110 girls.
