On March 21, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev congratulated the residents of the republic with the traditional holiday of Navruz, or the day of the vernal equinox. As reported by the press-service of the President, Atambayev's greetings were read out on the central square of Bishkek by chief of the presidential apparatus Sapar Isakov. Worth recalling, Navruz is celebrated in all the Central Asian countries as the actual onset of astronomical spring.

On May 15, 2017, broadcasting of the analog television signal will be stopped across the entire territory of Kyrgyzstan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Republic, such a decision was taken during a departmental meeting attended by the heads of the local TV channels. As stated, this date was selected taking into account the views of participants in the television market, which needed time to complete the construction of an alternative television network.

In Tashkent, there will be set up the Center of the Russian language under the Uzbek State University of World Languages. This became known as a result of the recent Tashkent-based round-table with the participation of “Rossotrudnichestvo” and chairperson of the Tashkent association of teachers of Russian language and literature Natalia Petrukhina.
