President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the framework agreement between Uzbekistan and the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) that provides for operations related to the Environmental Rehabilitation Account for Central Asia. Worth recalling, this document was signed during President of the EBRD Sum Chakrabarty's visit to Tashkent on March 16, 2017. It provides for cooperation between the bank and Uzbekistan in the field of recovery of the environment affected by the extraction and enrichment of uranium.

The lower house of the Tajik parliament has ratified the agreement on the modernization of the Kairakkum HPP. As reported by the Tajik Telegraph Agency, adding the project for rehabilitation of the Kairakkum HPP will be implemented in two phases. The agreement directly envisages launching the first phase of this project, which has an estimated total cost of $71 million. The funds will be allocated by the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development of Technical Assistance).

From June 1, 2017, the banks of Uzbekistan “Aloqabank” and “Asaka” started issuing loans to citizens of the republic for purchases of passenger vehicles of national production. The conditions of car insurance offered by these financial institutions differ from each other; so do the terms of lending. “Asaka” issues loans for up to three years, while “Aloqabank” offers a period of up to four years. As for the interest rate, it depends on the amount of the down payment, which the borrower provides as a preliminary payment.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which provides support for the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in the country. This was reported by the press service of the ministry on June 21. According to this document, the EBRD plans to allocate up to $250 million for RES projects, with an additional attraction of $480 million from other international financial organizations.

The Russian enterprise “Uralmashzavod” (UZTM) plans to conclude a contract providing for the delivery of mining equipment to Uzbek enterprises. According to the press service of the UZTM, the agreement on deliveries of the ECG-5A excavator is currently being prepared for signing with the Navoi MMC. The enterprises plan to sign the first contract for the delivery of the mass-produced excavator ECG-18, as well as several contracts for new crushing and grinding complexes (mills and smart crushers).

On June 20, the universal exhibition “International Economic Cooperation 2017” opened in Ashgabat. Its purpose is to demonstrate the opportunities of the Turkmen market and the prospects for cooperation of enterprises of various industries. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. More than 80 state and private enterprises, companies and organizations were the participants of the exhibition. Of them, 56 companies were foreign and represented 20 countries.

In 2016, the total volume of electronic purchases in Kazakhstan was 98 percent, which exceeded the 2015 indicator by 26 percent. As a result, the conditional savings reached about KZT130 billion, which is significantly more that the 2015 savings (KZT43 billion). Finance Minister Bakhyt Sultanov voiced these figures during the regular meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan on June 20.
