Kabul city is one of the oldest cities in the Central Asia: its history goes back to about 3.5 thousand years. The first mention of Kabul was found in the Rig Veda, the ancient Indian collection of religious hymns, made in the 2nd millennium BC. About the existence of the city knew the Greeks and a scholar Claudius Ptolemy (c. 87-165), who referred to Kabul in his scientific works.
