Turkey will take a step with Japan for nuclear energy, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, Anadolu agency reported.

"We have taken the first step with Russia, and we are taking the second step with Japan, said Turkish Prime Minister who held a joint press conference with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in Istanbul on Tuesday.

"We wish to make this investment as soon as possible," Erdogan added.

CPMIEC company's proposal on creating long-range missiles is more beneficial for Turkey from the economic point of view, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said before his official visit to Kosovo, TRT Haber TV channel reported today.

According to him, Ankara has evaluated all proposals in this sphere.

He also stressed that the creation of the long-range missiles in Turkey is a priority for the country.

Prime Minister said that Turkey's actions on the creation of such missiles are legitimate. The country does not consider NATO's statement on the issue important.

China and Afghanistan have agreed to expand economic cooperation following the visit of the Afghan delegation to China, Deputy Minister of Public Works of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Wahid told Trend on Thursday.

According to him, the main topics of discussion were the purchase of equipment by Afghanistan for the construction of roads and the construction of the railway to Central Asia through Afghanistan.

"We discussed these issues with China at the state level , and held negotiations with some private companies," Wahid said.

The Export-Import Bank of China will deliver a loan worth $165.6 million to Uzbekistan for the modernisation of the Angren thermal power plant in the Tashkent region, a source in government circles told Trend on Monday.

According to the source, an agreement was signed between the Chinese Export-Import Bank and the Industrial and Construction Bank of Uzbekistan (Uzpromstroybank) during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Tashkent on Monday.

The funds are delivered over a period of 20 years, including a five-year grace period.

Some $7500 worth of nonstandard Chinese goods have been detained by Tehran Standards and Industrial Research Office in the capital's customs, head of Tehran's Standards and Industrial Research Office Moslem Bayat said, Moj news agency reported.

The detained goods including scales, video recorders and adaptors which have been imported during the last two months from China , the report said.

Turkey is holding negotiations with China and South Korea on the implementation of a project for the construction and modernisation of $12 billion worth of Thermal Power Plants, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, the Sabah newspaper reported on Friday.

According to the minister, immediately after the United Arab Emirates rejected the construction of the Thermal Power Plants, Turkey started work on a back-up plan.

Japan logged a trade deficit of 1.02 trillion yen (10.2 billion dollars) in July, the 13th consecutive month of loss, amid the yen's fall and growing fossil fuel imports, dpa reported Monday.

Overall imports jumped 19.6 per cent to 6.99 trillion yen, making the ninth straight month of year-on-year rises, while exports grew 12.2 per cent to 5.96 trillion yen for the fifth straight month of increases compared to the same periods last year, the Finance Ministry said in a preliminary report.

Iran has ordered 315 coaches for metro lines from one of the Chinese companies, Tasnimnews reported with reference to the deputy head of Iranian Committee for Transportation and Fuel Management Amir Jafarpour.

Jafarpour noted that the coaches will be put in commission in the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz and Tabriz.

This order will be paid out of the funds that were to be obtained by Iranian side from the sale of oil to China.
