On June 22, the upper chamber of the Kazakh parliament (the Senate) approved the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of Kazakhstan Concerning the Issues of Their Compliance with the Constitution of the Country” in the first reading. This document provides for the possibility of deprivation of citizenship as a punishment for committing particularly serious crimes, including terrorism-related ones. The purpose of the draft law is to bring the current legislative acts in line with the recent amendments to the republic's constitution.

The lower house of the Tajik parliament has ratified the agreement on the modernization of the Kairakkum HPP. As reported by the Tajik Telegraph Agency, adding the project for rehabilitation of the Kairakkum HPP will be implemented in two phases. The agreement directly envisages launching the first phase of this project, which has an estimated total cost of $71 million. The funds will be allocated by the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development of Technical Assistance).

From June 1, 2017, the banks of Uzbekistan “Aloqabank” and “Asaka” started issuing loans to citizens of the republic for purchases of passenger vehicles of national production. The conditions of car insurance offered by these financial institutions differ from each other; so do the terms of lending. “Asaka” issues loans for up to three years, while “Aloqabank” offers a period of up to four years. As for the interest rate, it depends on the amount of the down payment, which the borrower provides as a preliminary payment.

A recent analysis of the health care system of Uzbekistan revealed a number of serious shortcomings in its activities. That is why the president of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree on reforming the industry, which envisages a number of transformations. The health care system will be conditionally divided into four levels. The highest level is republican; it involves the provision of the most advanced high-tech medical services in the specialized areas. The second is the regional level, at which similar medical services will be provided in the regional centers.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which provides support for the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in the country. The Russian enterprise “Uralmashzavod” (UZTM) plans to conclude a contract providing for the delivery of mining equipment to Uzbek enterprises. According to the press service of the UZTM, the agreement on deliveries of the ECG-5A excavator is currently being prepared for signing with the Navoi MMC. The enterprises plan to sign the first contract for the delivery of the mass-produced excavator ECG-18, as well as several contracts for new crushing and grinding complexes (mills and smart crushers).

Its purpose is to demonstrate the opportunities of the Turkmen market and the prospects for cooperation of enterprises of various industries.
