Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan on an official visit, spent a number of important negotiations. The most important of them were the talks between the Head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the President Ilham Aliyev.  As noted in the official press service of the Head of Azerbaijan, "during the meeting of President Ilham Aliyev with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, deep satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Israel in various activities was expressed".


Israeli negotiators have told their Palestinian counterparts that the Separation Wall that cuts through the occupied West Bank will serve as the border of a future Palestinian state, local media reports said Al JAzeera reported.

Just hours before US Secretary of State John Kerry's arrival for top-level talks on ongoing direct peace negotiations on Tuesday, two press reports said the Israeli team had made the proposal.


Israel's Foreign Ministry will hold a unique inter-ministerial workshop in Tbilisi on October 30-31.

Head of the Department for the Central Europe and Eurasia Anna Azari, Israeli ambassadors in Tbilisi, Baku, Astana and Ashgabat, diplomats and experts on the South Caucasus and Central Asia - around 20 people will attend the event.

The purpose of the event is to allow diplomats to get acquainted with the Caspian region, as well as with the countries bordering with Iran and China.

The ambassadors will deliver speech.


Israel freed 26 Palestinian prisoners on Wednesday, the second stage of a limited amnesty designed to help U.S.-sponsored peace talks that have been dogged by divisions on both sides, Reuters reported.

The inmates, convicted of murder in the killing of Israelis before or just after interim accords were signed two decades ago, were bussed from jail at midnight to welcoming parties in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.


Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Pandzhikidze took part in the regional assembly of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Pandzhikidze addressed the assembly participants in connection with the Georgian-Israeli relations. He stressed the importance of developing and intensifying the cooperation between the two countries in various spheres and also spoke about the current processes and priorities of Georgia's foreign policy.

The representatives of the Israeli diplomatic missions in the region and experts attended the assembly in Tbilisi.


Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu called President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on October 14.

The Israeli Premier congratulated the Head of Azerbaijani State on his victory at the presidential election, and wished him successes in his presidential activities.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to Benjamin Netanyahu for his congratulations and attention.

During the conversation, President Ilham Aliyev and PM Benjamin Netanyahu also discussed prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.


The UN Children's Fund has said Israel's army and police force continue to mistreat Palestinian youths during arrests and detentions, despite agreeing to test alternative treatment following international pressure Al Jazeera reported.

Teh fund's progress report, released on Monday, stated that "violations are ongoing", seven months after an initial paper was released which highlighted widrespread mistreatment of Palestinian youths arrested in the occupied West Bank.


It would be a "historic mistake" to ease pressure on Iran over its nuclear programme right now, according to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, BBC reported.

Opening parliament's winter session, Mr Netanyahu said Israel must "keep up the pressure" on Iran, "particularly at this moment".

His speech came on the eve of nuclear talks in Geneva between Iran and international negotiators.

Iran's foreign minister said he hoped a "roadmap" could be reached.

"Tomorrow is the start of a difficult and relatively time-consuming way forward," Mohammad Javad Zarif posted on his Facebook page.


Azerbaijan and Israel are preparing to sign an agreement in December on the avoidance of double taxation, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz told journalists on Tuesday.

The signing of this agreement will strengthen cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador said.

To date Azerbaijan has signed agreements on avoidance of double taxation with 43 countries.

"Visits and events are expected in the coming year which will strengthen cooperation between our countries. Israel will be represented by a large delegation at the Bakutel 2013 exhibition," Harpaz said.


There are confirmed reports that Israeli forces have surrounded the al-Aqsa mosque in occupied Jerusalem after it was reportedly stormed by Jewish groups Al Jazeera reported.

Witnesses inside the mosque told Al Jazeera on Wednesday that Israeli forces had detained several Palestinian Muslim worshippers inside and were firing tear gas.

Witnesses also reported clashes between a Jewish group and Israeli forces near the mosque after a number of far-right Jews stormed it.
