Iranian engineers have managed to design, manufacture, and install solar power plants in five countries, the Mehr News Agency reported.

A 1.2MW power station has been installed in Iraq. Another one has been installed in Saudi Arabia. A 5MW power station has been installed in the UAE. Meanwhile, the same power stations have been installed in Pakistan and India.

Iran plans to expand the use of solar electricity generation systems for supplying power to houses, Abbas Kazemi, director of Iranian Fuel Conservation Company, said in February.


Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is set to appear to before the Majlis to defend his choices for the positions of the 11th country's administration's Cabinet, Press TV reported.

Rouhani will attend Majlis session on Monday in which the Iranian lawmakers will discuss votes of confidence to his proposed Cabinet members.

During his first press conference on August 6, Rouhani said he had chosen his cabinet based on their competency, the country's conditions and need for experienced people.


The new Iranian administration should focus on exporting natural gas as its trump card in regional and international relations, the Mehr News Agency quoted ex-oil minister Gholamhossein Nozari as saying.

The country should seriously plan to boost natural gas exports to its neighboring countries and even to Europe, he added.

"Considering the intensified international sanctions on the country's oil sector, the priority should be placed on the development of the gas industry as the country seeks a trump card in international diplomatic relations," he said.


Iran's new administration will boost bilateral relations with Turkey, Iran's president Hassan Rouhani underlined during a phone talk with Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Mehr news agency reported.

Iran will cooperate with Turkey in regional and global issues Rouhani said, adding that, "we all should effort for restoring peace and stability in the region".

He expressed hope that Iran-Turkey cooperation would prevent violence in the region.


New Iranian president Hassan Rouhani will be invited to the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Conference to be held during the UN General Assembly in the current year, IRNA news agency quoted UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Kubish as saying.

He said that Ban-ki Moon`s invitation will be sent to Rouhani soon.

According to the report, Kubish made the statement during his meeting with Iranian deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Mahdi Akhoundzadeh.

President Hassan Rouhani appointed Morteza Bank as Vice President for Executive Affairs, Fars News Agency reported.

He is Deputy Head of the Center for Strategic Researches of Expediency Discernment Council.

Bank was Deputy Foreign minister during Mohammad Khatami`s administration (1997 to 2005). Before that, he worked as Governor of Kerman Province for three years.

Bank also served as deputy chief of Hassan Rouhani's election campaign, 2013. He is the member of the Moderation and Development Party's central committee.

During the meetings bilateral relations and regional issues were discussed.

In his meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Rouhani underlined importance of the Iran -Turkmenistan- Kazakhstan railway in boosting bilateral relations.

Berdimuhamedov in turn said Turkmenistan will support Iran's policies in international issues.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov met with the chairman of Iran's Parliament, Speaker Ali Larijani in Iran yesterday.

The meeting was held after the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president of Iran Hassan Rouhani, ISNA news agency reported on Monday.

Friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have deep historical roots, Larijani said during the meeting. According to him, Iran is ready for any cooperation to solve regional problems and create stability.


The British cut relations with Iran, so if they are interested in resuming diplomatic ties they should step forward, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyed Abbas Araqchi said on Monday.

"London should take a new approach in its relations with Tehran," the Fars News Agency quoted Araqchi as saying.

"Over 55 foreign delegations attended the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's President Hassan Rouhani. This proves that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not isolated and has international credit," he said.


Iran plans to import 250,000 tons of rice from Thailand, Thailand Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom said on Saturday.

The two countries have signed a contract based on which Tehran will import the mentioned amount of rice from Bangkok in six month starting October," the ISNA News Agency quoted Teriyapirom as saying.

"Iran will also import another 750,000 tons of rice from Thailand in the next two years," he added.

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari and Thailand Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom held talks on Wednesday.
