Iran's Basij forces will tomorrow begin massive "Beytul Mugeddes" military drills in the country, deputy Basij commander, Colonel Nosratollah Saif said, IRNA news agency reported.

He said the exercises will be held in 10 steps, with 2-3 specific exercises executed each day, adding that the drills will be held in 5 provinces of Iran.

Saif added that "Asura", "Kovser", "Al-Zahra" and "Beytul Mugeddes" battalions will be participating in the drills.

Previously, Iran held the "Beytul Mugeddes" exercises in January 2013.


Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, General Seyyed Hassan Firouzabadi dismissed reports on Syrian army using chemical weapons against opposition, Fars news agency reported.

"These accusations provided by the Western countries against the government of Bashar Al Assad are fake," Firuzabadi said.

Firuzabadi went on to say that the opposition forces in Syria are terrorists, who are fighting in favor of Israel, against Assad's forces.


A Jamaran 2 destroyer produced by the Iranian navy will soon be delivered to the Iranian navy in the Caspian Sea, Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi was quoted today by İribnews as saying.

He said the destroyer is equipped with modern technology and is an ambassador of peace and friendship in the Caspian Sea.

The vessel was delivered to the Iranian navy in the Persian Gulf in February 2010. It is designed and manufactured by Iranian specialists.

FARS news agency referred to it as 'the largest defence project'.


Iran's defensive power is based on the nation's support, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said on Thursday, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks in a conference titled as 'national and all-out defense' in Tehran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has unveiled the optimized versions of two indigenously-designed and -manufactured tanks, named Zolfaqar and Samsam, Press TV reported.

The tanks, which have been upgraded by military experts in the Iranian Army's Ground Forces, were unveiled on Monday as part of the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations commemorating the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan as well as several other high-ranking military officials attended the unveiling ceremony of the tanks.


Iran has presented two new domestically made helicopters at the recently opened airlines and aviation exhibition on Kish island, Fars reported.

In presence of Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi, two helicopter models, "Panha 1" and "Panha 2" were unveiled.

"Panha 1" is a medium-class helicopter model, capable of carrying 14 people, and is suitable for both military and non-military missions.

"Panha 2" model is smaller, a light-weight class model, capable of carrying 8 passengers.


Iran today has released two Ghadir-class submarines and two hovercrafts on water, in presence of country's Navy generals and other high ranking officials, IRINN Tv channel reported live.

Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari was among the Navy officials at the ceremony. Yesterday, he said that the Iranian experts have also build special submarine simulators, which will be used to prepare for real submarines.


Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said during a press conference in Tehran that Iran will launch its Sina-7 navy on Nov.28.

According to the IRNA report, Sayyari added that Sina-7 navy is equipped with missiles.

"The second development stage of the Sahand destroyer will be inaugurated on the same day", Iranian Navy Commander Sayyari said.

Previously Sayyari said on Oct.8 that Iran will start the new stage of the Sahand destroyer's construction in December.
