Iran is moving ahead to update a program the West fears could be used to make nuclear weapons, diplomats said Wednesday, despite high-level diplomacy aimed at stopping it from doing so, AP reported.

Three diplomats said Tehran now has installed close to 700 high-tech centrifuges in an upgrade of its uranium enrichment program since the start of the year.

That represents an increase of about 100 since mid-April, when diplomats first told The Associated Press that Iran was rapidly installing the equipment.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereidoun Abbasi announced that the country plans to design and build a center equipped with a fixed gamma radiation system in Bonab city, Northwestern Iran, in the near future, Fars news agency reported.

"The building of this center is being constructed and will be ready for inauguration by the end of the first half of this (Iranian) year (end of summer) after the necessary equipments are installed," Abbasi told reporters in Bonab city, East Azarbaijan province on Sunday night.

Iran will unveil new fighter aircraft this year, Deputy Secretary of Defense of Iran, Majid Bokaei said, Tabnak reported.

Baokaei noted that this is one of the latest achievements of Iran in military sphere, and the aircraft will be built this year.

Several days afo Iran unveiled three more military achievements - a wireless communication system, a missile-launching system, and a T-72 tank simulation system.

Also, two new domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) named "Mohajer B" and "Hazem 3" were unveiled.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the construction work of a 25-megawatt power plant in the African state of Benin on Monday, FNA reported.

Iran's Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA), one of the major general contractors of energy projects in Iran, is slated to complete Benin's power plant project in a period of about one year.

Beninese President Thomas Yayi Boni also accompanied President Ahmadinejad in the inaugural ceremony.

The experts of Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) at Iran's Esfahan have managed to prepare fuel rods for Bushehr nuclear power plant, IRIB News reported.

Deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Ghannad Marageh said that the experts of Esfahan's UCF manufactured fuel rods for the Bushehr NPP, just as previously they did for the Tehran Research Reactor and the IR40 reactor in Arak.

"The work was carried out completely without any help from foreign countries," Marageh said, without revealing any more details on the issue.

Iran has exported technical and engineering services worth $1.976 billion in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, 2012.

The head of the Association of Iranian Exporters of Technical and Engineering Services, Mohammad Reza Ansari, said in February that over 14,000 Iranians are working in foreign countries.

The US-generated sanctions have made it very hard for the private sector to export technical and engineering services, the ISNA News Agency quoted Ansari as saying.

A biodiesel production plant was inaugurated in Iran's central province of Isfahan at a cost of 150 billion rials (about $12.2 million), IRNA reported.

The construction if the plant started six years ago. The produced biodiesel will pollute the air 83 percent less than other fuels.

Biodiesel refers to a vegetable oil - or animal fat-based diesel fuel.

Biodiesel is meant to be used in standard diesel engines and is thus distinct from the vegetable and waste oils used to fuel converted diesel engines.

Iran and P5+1 group agreed to hold another round of nuclear talks in Kazakhstan, after the negotiations on an expert level in Istanbul, Fars News Agency reported.

Iran and P5+1 group have wrapped up the nuclear negotiations in Kazakhstan today after two days of talks.

RIA Novosti reported citing Russian Deputy foreign minister Sergey Ryabkov, that the expert talks between the sides will be held in Istanbul on 17-18 March.

The meeting between Iran and the "Group of Six" on nuclear program scheduled for February 26 in Almaty will mark another round of negotiations between the parties on this issue that will be continued in future, experts say.

"Negotiations on Iran's nuclear program will continue. The negotiation process will be conducted, at least until the end of this year," a senior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor Vladimir Sazhin said during a video conference Moscow - Astana - Yerevan on "The Iranian factor in the context of regional security."

Iran has underlined the need for a new international legal instrument to counter the increasing wave of cross-border cyber attacks in the world, Press TV reported.

Alireza Miryousefi, the head of the press office for the Iranian mission to the UN, and Hossein Gharibi, the counselor of the mission, said in an opinion piece published on the Christian Science Monitor on Thursday that the world "needs a new international legal instrument on cyberspace, in light of the new waves of trans-border cyber attacks that have become a disturbing aspect of international relations in the 21st century."
