Since the commissioning of Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline in December 2009, it transported over 30 billion cubic meters of gas, China National Petroleum Corp said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Central-Asian gas pipeline with a design capacity of 30 billion cubic meters was built by CNPC which allowed Turkmenistan to expand sales markets, previously limited by supplies to Russia and Iran.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heading a high ranking delegation and upon invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Beijing on Tuesday evening, IRNA reported.

Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet with heads of state including China's President Hu Jintao and Russia's President Vladimir Putin.

Ahmadinejad is scheduled to attend the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit meeting to be held on June 6-7. This is Ahmadinejad's third visit to China.

Kazakh and Chinese governments signed an agreement on border checkpoints between the two countries and terms of its operation, Kazakh presidential press-service reported.

The agreement was signed following the meeting of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao on Wednesday.

Moreover, the parties agreed on the further development of strategic partnership.

President Nazarbayev is on official visit to China.

Within the meeting, the parties stressed high pace of development of bilateral relations.

Xi Jinping urged Kazakhstan to develop bilateral cooperation in energy and agriculture. In turn, President Nazarbayev stressed the need to cooperate in transport, logistics and cross-border activity.

China's Sinohydro Group said it has not received any written notification that Iran has cancelled a $2 billion contract for it to help build a hydroelectric dam in the country, Reuters reported.

Last week dpa reported an official from Sinohydro Corp confirming that the Iranian government had withdrawn from an agreement with the Chinese firm to build the dam and a hydroelectric plant in the western province of Lorestan.

Chen Bingde, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) will pay an official visit to Tajikistan on June 5-7, Asia-Plus reported.

Chen Bingde during his visit plans to meet with Tajik Defence Minister Sherali Khayrullayev, as well as other high level officials.

The sides plan to discuss the issues of military cooperation's development and preparation of Tajik officers in Chinese high schools.

Bingde will attend the ceremony of putting the foundation of the Officers' house in Tajikistan.

A Chinese company on Friday said Iran had pulled out of a framework agreement for a 2-billion-dollar dam project, probably because of financing problems, dpa reported.

Deputy head of the Iranian team of negotiators Ali Baqeri met with Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu following the first round of talks between Tehran and the six world powers in Baghdad on Wednesday, Fars News reported.

Baqeri, an Undersecretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and a deputy head of the Iranian team of negotiators in talks with the world powers, met Zhaoxu following the morning session of the multifaceted talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) in Baghdad.

China's April crude oil imports from Iran fell 23.7 percent from a year earlier to 388,034 barrels per day (bpd) due to pricing disputes over term contracts, customs data showed on Monday, with Beijing boosting shipments elsewhere to help fill the gap, Reuters reported.

April imports are still up 53.2 percent or 134,732 bpd from 253,302 bpd in March after Iran and Beijing resolved disputes over annual contracts.

In January-April, China's crude imports from the Iran totalled 355,989 bpd, down 31 percent from a year earlier.
