A Chinese military unit appeared to be a major hacker of US computer systems in a "multi-year, enterprise-scale computer espionage campaign," US-based cybersecurity experts said in a report issued Tuesday, DPA reported.
The Mandiant Intelligence Centre published 3,000 digital indicators of activity by the Chinese unit, which it called APT1, including domain names and IP addresses linked to hacking attacks.


Assistant Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Baqeri, who is in Beijing, and Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, exchanged views on the latest developments in international, regional and nuclear issues, IRNA reported.

Baqeri arrived in Beijing on Tuesday afternoon.

Ma Zhaoxu had visited Tehran last February. He also headed Chinese delegation in recent negotiations between Iran and Group 5+1 in Istanbul.

Baqeri will depart Beijing for Moscow on Wednesday to hold talks with Russian officials.


Foreign ministers of Russia, China and India on Friday urged all concerned parties to show maximum restraint over the failed satellite launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

"We are convinced that the responses to the challenge need to be only in diplomatic and political ways," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a joint news briefing after meeting with China's Yang Jiechi and India's S. M. Krishna.

The three countries, Lavrov said, also jointly called for a sooner resumption of the six-party talks over the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula.


Turkey and China has signed on Monday an agreement on use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, TRT Haber TV Channel reported today.

The agreement was signed during a visit of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Beijing.

Earlier Turkey signed a similar agreement with South Korea. The TV channel reported that signing of the agreement will be the first step towards development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of atomic energy.


China Great Wall Industry Corporation signed a contract with the French Thales Alenia Space, under which China will help Turkmenistan to launch the country's first communications satellite, Chinese media outlets report with reference to national company on Wednesday.

According to the report, the new satellite, developed by Thales Alenia Space, will be the first within creating national communications satellite system of Turkmenistan. Its weight is 4.5 tons, while design service life -15 years.

China will launch a new meteorological satellite at an appropriate time in coming days, the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center said in a statement Wednesday.

A Long March-4C carrier rocket will carry the satellite, the second of China's Fengyun III series, into space.

Preparations for the launch have progressed smoothly, the statement said.
