The company “Uzagrotehsanoatholding” and the Belarusian design and technological research institute of foundry production “BELNILILIT” intend to implement a project for establishment of the first automated foundry production of agricultural machinery in the republic. As reported by head of “Uzagrotehsanoatholding” Nodir Otadionov, the Uzbek side has studied several possibilities for implementing this project. For example, the earlier plans envisaged implementing it jointly with Hanwoo (South Korea).

In accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the State Committee on Forestry has been formed in Uzbekistan. This structure will have its own territorial subdivisions in Karakalpakstan and the provinces of the country, on the basis of the Main Forestry Department under the Ministry of Water and Agriculture. The reason for establishment of the new committee was a whole range of forestry problems, including the outdated and worn-out technical base, as well as the industry's lack of adequate expertise.

Recently, Uzbekistan and China have signed about 100 agreements. Their total worthiness exceeds $20 billion in monetary terms. This was done within the framework of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to Beijing, as reported by the local mass media. In particular, during the visit of the Uzbek president, the parties signed 10 documents related to the oil and gas sector totaling over $5 billion. The newly concluded agreements envisages that the Chinese side will finance the construction of a plant for production of liquid synthetic fuels in the south of Uzbekistan.

This year, the railway company of Uzbekistan plans to allocate about $4 million (or UZS15 billion) for modernization of its subsidiary, the Tashkent Mechanical Plant (former TAPOiCh). As reported by local publications, these funds are dividends on the state share for 2014-2015. Worth recalling, during the extraordinary meeting of shareholders on December 27, 2013, the former TAPOiCh was transformed into a joint stock company with the simultaneous renaming of the enterprise into the Tashkent Mechanical Plant.

In the near future, Uzbekistan intends to completely abandon manual cotton collection and switch to machine collection. As announced by head of the national holding “Uzagrotehsanoatholding” Nodir Otjononov, in order to completely refuse from manual collection of cotton, about 10,000 units of cotton harvesting equipment should be delivered to the domestic market of the republic. This will allow to achieve the 100 percent level of mechanized cotton harvesting.

By the end of May 2017, the Russian company Rostselmash will organize the assembly of its equipment at the production facilities of the Chirchik plant of agricultural machinery in Uzbekistan. Chairman of the board of “Uzagrotehsanoatholding” Nodir Otayonov reported the news on May 11. According to him, the start of production may take place even a little earlier, since only a few minor technical issues remain to be solved.

On May 11-12, the capital of Uzbekistan is hosting the 12th regular meeting of the Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The main theme of this event is the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan, as well as ensuring stability and security throughout the Central Asian region.
