In the future, the capital of Uzbekistan will have to completely switch to the use of local energy-saving boiler-houses as heat supply systems. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made such a statement during his visit to Shaykhantahur Province. In particular, he visited the Heat Power Plant No.3 owned by the joint stock company “Tashkent Isissikl Markazi.” The facility was built in the 1970s; currently, it supplies heat to 937 buildings in the district.

The Ministry of Labor of Uzbekistan will be transformed into the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations. This will be done in accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures aimed at further improvement of the state policy in the field of employment and a radical increase in the effectiveness of the activities of bodies related to labor activities.” According to the press service of the Uzbek president, the text of the decree also defines the area of activity and tasks of the new ministry, as well as its territorial divisions.

By the end of 2018, Uzbekistan will acquire 24 electric locomotives from Chinese manufacturers for operation on Uzbek railways. According to a representative of “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari,” such large volumes of locomotive purchases are primarily related to the currently implemented program of electrification of railways. Over the past three years, slightly less than 1,100 kilometers of railways have been electrified in the republic. According to the plans, the level of electrification should be brought to 51 percent by the end of 2019.
