On May 24, an international conference on the issues of combating illegal migration was held in the capital of Tajikistan. According to Igor Lyakin-Frolov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the republic, the topic of migration is currently one of the main topics on the agenda of both bilateral cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan, and multilateral cooperation of the CIS states.



During the meeting of the presidents of Tajikistan and Egypt Emomali Rahmon and Abdulfattah al-Sisi in Riyadh (the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), the sides discussed prospects for further development of relations between the two countries. According to the press service of the head of Tajikistan, he arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the summit of the Arab-Muslim countries. Emomali Rahmon also noted that he was quite optimistic about the possibility of expanding friendly relations and mutual cooperation and considered Egypt one of the key countries of the Middle East.


Tajikistan and Japan should in every possible way develop scientific and technical cooperation in the fields of electric power engineering, geology, hydrology, seismology and IT technologies. This was said during the recent meeting of Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Sharif Said and representatives of the Friendship Association of Tajikistan and Japan on Cultural and Economic Issues.


Tajikistan will receive $35 million from the Saudi Development Fund, which will be used to build secondary schools in several regions of the country. The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan has received emergency rescue equipment worth about $500,000 from the Russian Embassy in the republic. According to the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission, 11 units of various heavy emergency rescue equipment were transferred to the Committee's use, including 6 URAL vehicles and 5 GAZ Vepr cross-country vehicles. This equipment is designed to solve special problems arising in the context of rescue operations.
