An aircraft of Air Force of Tajikistan crashed in the Hisor District, Avesta reported with reference to the country's Defence Ministry.

The source said the tragedy occurred during a planned training flight near a military airfield Ayni in Hisor District.

"Tajik Air Force aircraft Yak-52 crashed into the ground. Two officers of the Air Force died," the source said, without specifying whether the deceased were crew members.

Tajik authorities have reached agreement with illegal armed groups, opposing the government troops in the city of Khorog in Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region since July 24, Asia-Plus reported.

In the coming days it is expected that Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon will sign a decree on amnesty of Khorog combatants.

According to the agreement, only Tolib Ayembekov and two other people guilty of killing of Tajik special service general Abdullo Nazarov will be brought to justice.

Telephone communication interrupted with the city of Khorog in Tajik Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, where over 40 people had been killed in special operation on July 24-25.

Communication interrupted as a result of damaging the fiber-optic cable during the fighting between security officers and illegal armed formation, ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the head of Tajikistan's government communication service Beg Zuhurov.

Chief prosecutor of the Rushan district in Tajik Gorno Badakhshan region Nafasbek Dilshodov was seriously wounded in a terrorist act in the city of Khorog, the administrative center of Gorno Badakhshan yesterday evening, Asia-Plus reported on Tuesday.

A reliable source at the power wielding structures says the prosecutor's car was exploded. The prosecutor and his fellow traveler sustained serious wounds and were taken to the central regional hospital in Khorog. They are both currently in serious condition.

At least nine law enforcement officers were killed and over 20 wounded in the Tajik Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region during the special operation of neutralizing the suspects of murdering Tajik special services general Abdullo Nazarov, RIA Novosti reported referring to a source in law enforcement agencies.

"We have nine killed and 25 wounded, but we are confident that they have more casualties," a source said.

He could not determine the number of killed militants because the battle is underway.

Tajik special services general Abdullo Nazarov was killed by former opposition fighters. Such statement was made jointly by Tajik National Security Committee and Interior Ministry, ITAR-TASS reported.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the crime had been committed by members of illegal armed group headed by boundary detachment commander Tolib Aembekov.

"Aembekov and his assistants refused to stand before the law, ignoring the law enforcement agencies' requirement," National Security Committee and Interior Ministry said.

The Committee on the Emergency Situations of Tajikistan and Tajikistan's Ministry on Emergency Situations will sign an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of civil defense, the response to the emergency situations and their prevention, Avesta.tj reported on Monday.

While developing the agreement, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held joint exercises on the transboundary territory between the Sogd and Batken oblasts, financially supported by the European Union's humanitarian department.

Russian military base in Tajikistan held military exercises on Friday, Asia-plus reports.

Captain Dmitry Matushkin, an assistant to the base's commander, noted that military exercises were conducted in three garrisons of the base.

The exercises, comprising units from the garrisons, include simulated combat operation against terrorists aiming to wreck holding the elections as well as attempting to commit terrorist acts and taking hostages.

More than 150 servicemen and about 20 armored vehicles were involved in the exercises, Matushkin said.

Tajik and Indian Ministers of defense Sherali Khairulloyev and Arakkaparambil Kurian Antony expressed their commitment to further expansion of military and technical cooperation between the two countries, Asia-Plus reported on Tuesday with reference to a source in the Tajik Defence Ministry.

The two ministers met in Dushanbe on Oct. 3 during Antony's short stopover on his way to Moscow.

The sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
