Tajikistan has established a new medical school to solve the relevant problem of personnel shortages in the health sector. According to the press-service of the President, the Tajik government has adopted the corresponding decree. In accordance with the document, the Khatlon State Medical University will be located 90 kilometers south-east of Dushanbe, in the territory of Dangara District. The new higher education institution will include the building and a number of facilities of the state educational institution “Dangara State University.”



Russia will allocate funds in the amount of $1.43 million for the budget of UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), in order to facilitate implementation of the project “Early Childhood Survival and Development in Tajikistan.” The news was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The main objective of this project is to increase access to basic health services of young children, infants and mothers in 12 districts of the republic.


On Wednesday, October 8, the ceremony of putting into operation a new military hospital, which was with the support of India, was held in Tajikistan. According to the press office of the President, the President Emomali Rahmon took part in this event. The text message also says that the new hospital has three floors and it is designed for 50 beds. The object is located 90 kilometers south of Dushanbe, in Bahtarskom region in the territory of the military unit №07017 of the Ministry of Defense.



On Tuesday, May 6 a new World Bank’s project on public health service was launched in Tajikistan. Within its framework it is planned to test new and innovative methods of improving quality of medical services related to the primary health care network. This was reported in the press office of the World Bank in Dushanbe, noting that a total of nearly $ 20 million was allocated for these purposes.
