Russian oil can be refined at a SOCAR refinery in Kyrgyzstan to be built in Tokmak, president of the Kyrgyz Oil Trader's Association Zhumakadyr Akeneev told Trend on Tuesday.

"We are negotiating with Kazakhstan and Russia on the supply of oil to the refineries," he said.

Akeneev said that it is necessary to solve the last remaining question how to determine the source of feedstock for processing at the plant to launch the oil refinery construction.

He added that Azerbaijan has transferred powers of determining the source of feedstock to the Kyrgyz side.

Kyrgyz JSC Manas airport and Russian national company Rosneft signed a contract on fuel supplies, KyrTAG reported on Monday.

The terms of the contract are not published.

The document was signed within the 15th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission, held in Moscow.

Earlier Kyrgyz Prime Minister Zhantoro Satibaldiyev met with Rosneft's head Iqor Sechin.

The group from UAE will visit Kyrgyzstan to familiarize with the prospects of expanding trade cooperation between the two countries, Tazabek reported on Monday.

According to the statement, the agreement was reached during the visit of the First vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Djoomart Otorbaev February, 3 to Abu Dhabi.

As mentioned in the statement, the sides expressed mutual interest in bringing the bilateral relations to a new level, the need to exchange visits and accelerated study and signing of agreements on avoidance of double taxation and investment protection.

Small and medium businesses have attained a 40% share of the Kyrgyz GDP, KyrTAG reported, referring to the draft Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017.

"Small and medium entrepreneurship development in Kyrgyzstan is far from an adequate level", the project says. "The contribution of small and medium business is over 40% of GDP. Around 15% of the total number of the employed population is employed in this sector. But this sector is a major employer in developed countries and it accounts for 60-80% of GDP in them".

Kyrgyzneftegaz is suspected of concealing a report on the deal with Petrofac and causing damages to the state worth more than 22 million soums, KirTAG said on Thursday referencing the press service of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes under the Kyrgyz government (SSCEC).

The price for gold scrap has increased in Kyrgyzstan, KirTAG said on Wednesday citing an employee of the www.jewelry.kg website.

"Over the past two years, the cost of gold scrap has increased by an average of $0.25 per gram, with respect to any gold standard. This is due to increase in gold prices all around the world," the employee said.

He said the gold handed in for scrap is mostly of Turkish and Russian production. Attempts to sell fakes have not been observed.

Kyrgyzstan hopes to receive cheaper gas in 2013, 24.kg quoted Deputy General Director of Kyrgyzgas Kuralbek Naskeyev as saying at the press-conference on Monday.

"Kyrgyzstan is in talks (with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) to purchase natural gas next year at a lower price," Naskeyev said.

According to Kyrgyzgas Deputy General Director, the negotiations are underway for more than 3 months.
