Ethnic conflict broke out on the 10th – 11th June, 2010 in Osh, and it concerned the neighboring Jalal-Abad region. Two ethnic groups, prevailing in the region, - the Kirghiz and Uzbeks were the warring parties there. The confrontation resulted in bloody pogroms, massacres of civilians, the emergence of refugees, the property destruction of the representatives from the warring parties.


The tragic events of September 11, 2001, in the United States called a natural reaction in the world community. Many countries have not only declared, but also took practical steps to fight with international terrorism. The formation of a global coalition against terrorism has become an unprecedented display of solidarity of the countries which sincerely believe in the virtue of the joint fight against international terrorism. In September-October 2001 more than 100 countries in the world offered all possible assistance to Washington.


Soon it will be twenty years since the independence and the beginning of revolutionary changes in the history of Kyrgyzstan. Then, for the first time from getting the sovereignty the Kyrgyz attention was riveted on the things that were happening within the walls of the Jogorku Kenesh, later it was popularly called "the legendary parliament." The time only proved the correctness of this title.


Today the problems of combating extremism and terrorism are extremely urgent to the republic. They appeared since the independence in 1991. At that time the people began an intense search for their roots, many people turned to religion as the basis for spiritual development. But the religious and state institutions in a short time showed their venality and lack of commitment to development.


According to the forecast Central Asia expect the increase of the population to 60 million people. It will happen in the nearest future and will get around the countries such as, for example, the UK (59.5 million people) and Italy (57.8 million people). In general region was ranked the 9th in the world by the area extent. The Central Asian countries have significant resource base for energy. The Central Asian region is one of the wealthiest in the world by its energy that allows it to claim the leader positions.


Despite the last 20 years after the collapse of the USSR, among us we see many Kirgiz and the people from this historically and spiritually close country. The most citizens of the CIS continues still feel a kind of something united across the whole Eurasia. Ties with Turkic and Russian world are close in general, but in the spiritual education they are especially close with Dagestan.

The UN estimates that in today's world almost 900 million people don’t have access to clean water and 2.7 billion people live in unsanitary conditions. Water, which makes life possible, brings death to millions of people who cannot use any means of hygiene and sanitation. Every 20 seconds a child dies from the diseases caused by the lack of clean water, and about 8 to 20 thousand people die in the world every day from the lack of safe drinking water, and for the year this number is from 3 to 7.5 million people.


Last year was a time for serious challenges in Kyrgyzstan. In the country the authoritarian regime of government was overthrown for the second time in 10 years. Speaking against corruption and lawlessness and adopting a new constitution, the people of Kyrgyzstan laid the foundation for the parliamentary form of government. The elections to the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan (the parliament) became one of the most important events in the history of the Kyrgyz State.
